Lickiss Sideboard

I arrived at this design following the client's preference for Scandinavian design, blending it with the gorgeous figuring of some stunning native timbers. The carcass is mitred with the grain of the sweet chestnut following round the edges. Doors are also mitred into the carcass for a minimal look. I was lucky enough to have some particularly long Chestnut boards in stock which allowed me to have the grain flowing right round the carcass. When we planed it up, there was some gun shot in the grain which had produced an interesting figure.
