Shippon Chair

Originally commissioned as a set of 12 for a round dining table. A full finished prototype was made initially, and the client held a dinner party to put it through its paces.

The tall backed dining chair is designed for comfortable dining, with very good back support and shaped hardwood seat. An outstanding feature of the design is the organic "branched"? seat rail, which gives the chair structural integrity in a distinctive and stylish manner. These rails are joined into the back leg with a locking joint which, once assembled, cannot come apart, giving the chairs true heirloom quality.
