Burr Oak Table

My client was looking for a coffee table and liked the thought of using burr oak. I searched and searched and eventually found some in the timber yard of Willy Bullough. He had planked a huge tree measuring some 8 feet across back around 1995. Willy was expecting the tree to be hollow, but soon found it to be solid Burr throughout. Quite remarkable! I wanted to do as little as possible to the wood, leaving it to speak for itself using subtle curves for the top and under structure.
